Modes & ideas

From an episode to a playfield.

Rules, shot choices, storyboards, and the thinking behind each adventure. Concepts are open for discussion before they become code.

Nomortland

The road remembers. Build a trail through three dimensions, then retrace your shots while Boss Jerry closes in. Make the final garage shot to get home.

  • A proposed eight-shot adventure
  • Six playable episode excerpts and storyboard notes
  • An interactive example of the return route
  • A two-ball Mooch & Eagle Man alternative
  • Music direction and a bonus floating-water singalong clip

Character adventures & mini wizards

Give the Morty, Jerry, Beth, and Summer stand-ups a larger purpose. Complete one adventure for each character to qualify a Family finale, then explore personal mini wizards as each character’s mode library grows.

Where it stands: Nomortland is a design proposal. There is no downloadable or cabinet-ready custom mode yet. Future concepts, playtests, and releases will be added here with their current status.
Inside the workshop

The tools behind the ideas.

In development

Virtual playfield

A photo-based local playtest environment connecting approximate 2D ball movement to the actual game rules, display, lamps, and audio.

The goal is to try rules and shot sequences before taking a mode to the physical table.

How we build

Idea → prototype → playtest

Start with a clear shot loop and a story worth playing. Build a local prototype, check the scoring and timing, then test how it feels on the table.

Each project page will distinguish proposed rules, simulator results, and physical playtest results.

The workshop gets a home

A central place to share mode concepts and development progress. First up: Nomortland, with a complete design treatment, six episode clips, and a route walkthrough.

Development baseline transferred

The existing virtual-playfield project and runtime snapshot have been brought into the current workspace. Package integrity, 33 Python tests, and the physics regression checks passed. The playable runtime still needs a compatibility check on the current PC.

About this project

A place to show the work.

This is Tim’s independent development workshop for a Spooky Rick & Morty pinball machine. It brings together episode-inspired mode ideas, local development experiments, and progress toward playable additions.

The project builds on an owner-supplied game installation. This is an independent development workshop.
